Teaching Art in Higher Education
Introduce graduate art students to basic principles and practices of teaching art at the postsecondary level. Graduate students develop a teaching portfolio, teaching philosophy, a syllabus and 3 project sheets, and collaborate research for a seminar presentation on a practical topic relative to the 21st century art classroom (create a handout), and a syllabus and 3 project sheets. In addition, they teach a 30 minute lesson to a group of graduate students, video tape the session and then write a written reflection on their teaching.
