Since 2009, Jane Ingram Allen has curated and organized the Chen Long Wetlands International Art Project. I had the privilege of meeting Jane, one of the artist, name ?, and educator, Chao-Mei in 2012 during my visit to Taiwan. The site installation artists participating in the exhibition respond to the changing environment over the past 30 years in Cheng-Long that has gone form an agricultural a fishing community due to rising water levels. The local community works with the artist during the installation of the artworks.

Cheng-Long Wetlands is a developing wetlands is in rural Yunlin County, on the South-central coast of Taiwan. There are several small villages nearby, and people here usually make their living from fish farms and agriculture. In the village of Cheng Long I visited the elementary school with 75 children in grades 1–6 (about ages 6-12) and met Chao-mei, the educator involved with the project.
